The Steigenberger Nile Palace Hotel is located on the Corniche — the riverside promenade on the east bank of the Nile in central Luxor, Egypt. Luxor International Airport (LXR) is approximately 7 km away. The hotel is within walking distance of Luxor Temple and the Luxor Museum, and close to the start of the Avenue of Sphinxes leading to Karnak Temple.
The hotel operated for many years as the Le Méridien Luxor under the Marriott International Le Méridien brand. It subsequently rebranded as the Steigenberger Nile Palace under the Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts brand — a German luxury hotel group with a strong presence across Europe and in Egyptian destinations. The property, facilities and service standards have continued under the new branding.

The best time to visit Luxor is October to April, when daytime temperatures are comfortable for sightseeing — ranging from around 25°C in October/April down to a pleasant 20–22°C in December and January. Summer months (June–August) see temperatures exceeding 40°C, which makes outdoor sightseeing very challenging. Winter is the peak season for Nile cruises and Luxor holidays, with cool mornings warming to very pleasant afternoons throughout the main tourist season.
