Cala Conta in particular, widely regarded as one of the most scenically beautiful beaches on the island, is most conveniently reached from San Antonio by water. The return journey can be taken from any of the three beaches, allowing visitors to hop between coves through the day.
San Antonio’s nightlife is large in scale and concentrated in the town centre streets immediately behind the seafront. The West End — the main bar and club area — is the busiest and most commercially developed nightlife street in the Balearics outside Ibiza Town’s own entertainment district. San Antonio has a large accommodation stock covering the full range from budget hostels and apartment complexes to four-star hotels with bay views. The main accommodation zones are the seafront (bay views, highest prices), the area immediately behind the seafront (walking distance to everything, moderate prices) and the suburbs extending south and inland from the town centre (lower prices, requiring transport to reach the sunset strip and harbour). Hotels with west-facing balconies and bay views command premium pricing for the sunset view.
San Antonio has the widest range of eating and drinking options of any resort on Ibiza outside Ibiza Town itself. The restaurant offer covers British pub food, pizza, Asian fusion, Indian, traditional Spanish and Ibizan fish restaurants, at prices ranging from budget to mid-range. The Saturday market in the main plaza sells fresh produce, local craft items and provides the social atmosphere of a genuine market rather than a tourist-trade event. Ibiza Airport (IBZ) is approximately 15 kilometres from San Antonio. Taxis take around 20 minutes. Bus services connect the resort to Ibiza Town frequently throughout the day and evening, with the journey taking approximately 30 minutes. The ferry connections from San Antonio harbour to Formentera, while less frequent than the services from Ibiza Town, provide an alternative route to the island’s most celebrated beach destination. The service is seasonal and runs on a more limited timetable than the main crossing from the capital; checking the current season schedule at the harbour is advisable. For San Antonio-based visitors who want to visit Formentera without the additional journey to Ibiza Town, the direct harbour service provides a time-efficient alternative. The combination of San Antonio’s water taxis to the southwest beaches for one day and the Formentera crossing for another gives west coast visitors two contrasting sea excursions without needing to travel to the south side of the island.

Water taxis from San Antonio harbour serve Cala Bassa, Cala Conta and Cala Tarida on the southwest coast. Services typically run from approximately 10am to 5pm daily during the summer season. Cala Conta — also written Cala Comte — is the most scenically dramatic of the three, with a double cove and the best west-facing sunset colours. Cala Bassa is larger, with more beach facilities and a good beach bar. Cala Tarida is less visited and consequently quieter. All three are significantly better swimming beaches than San Antonio’s own town beach.
San Antonio is approximately 15 kilometres from Ibiza Town. The bus journey takes around 30 minutes; taxis take 20 minutes. Regular bus services run throughout the day and into the late evening, connecting the two resorts via a reliable and inexpensive public transport route. Ibiza Town’s UNESCO Dalt Vila, the ferry to Formentera and the island’s best restaurants are all accessible as half-day or full-day excursions from San Antonio without the need for a hire car.
